My name is Franka and I'm a cosplayer since 2 years now. I'm also trying to become a good photographer because taking pictures is actually more fun to me than cosplaying ;) But I will keep on both because I love cosplaying together with my girl :iconevil-uke-sora:! We're in a relationship since 2,5 years now and I'm very happy to have her by my side

I am german and living in munich. You can talk to me in german or english. But you have to know that my english really sucks, so I'm sorry if I will sometimes write nonsense XD

You can also find me on twitter (I'm almost posting in german there ->, at Animexx… or you can find Evil-Uke-Sora and me together at our new homepage at facebook… and tumblr Feel free to follow us there, we will also post there pictures which you can't find here on dA.

If you have any questions to a cosplay or a picture or anything else you can always send me a note and ask me :)
Hey friends!
I just want to tell you
that I now have my own facebook page for my photography.
I would be very happy if you'll have a look at it …

Thanks for being here

I am going to see if I have got this straight.

According to Wikipedia, Studio Ghibli has 20 films to date.  Eight of them have been both written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.  Having watched basically no Miyazaki films to date, here is that list as well as what I know about each film.

1. Castle in the Sky - There is a couple that I think can walk on air and there is a place named Laputa (if that is how you spell it).
2. My Neighbor Totoro - That title character is a big fat cat like creature who might be able to fly and also has an umbrella.  Also, I think there is a Catbus.
3. Kiki's Delivery Service - Sometimes you read plot summaries before watching a film, and sometimes you just get unlucky by stumbling on to a spoiler.  This movie falls into the latter category for me.  The title character is a girl who rides on a broomstick and looks nothing like a stereotypical witch.  Unfortunately I found a list of the saddest moments in movies and I could not help but read the headline that said "Kiki loses her magical powers".  I had no idea what the rest of the plot involves, and even I could tell that is probably a major spoiler.  Perhaps she could get a better appliance to fly on, like a vacuum cleaner.
4. Porco Rosso -…
5. Princess Monoke - Actually, the statement that I have not watched any Miyazaki movies is not entirely true, I did watch snippets of this movie when I was a kid.  From what I can gather, it is a story of nature vs. technology although the two sides are not black and white like they are in Avatar (I was going to say Pocahontas, but apart from the title character, Governor Ratcliffe, and John Smith, everyone is actually portrayed pretty even handily and even John Smith is only "white" for less than half the movie).  I think the lead female character is a hunter, although I am not 100% sure on that one.
6. Spirited Away - A little girl gets lost from her parents and goes on wild adventures with a demon and a witch she signs her life away to.  Also, the mask of the being called No Face looks like what the Marionette wore in Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
7. Ponyo - To my amazement, it seems like The Little Mermaid, but it gets rid of the things I do not like.  These include annoying (to me) songs and Ariel knowing nothing about Prince Eric before deciding she is in love with him.  Ponyo is also the only Ghibli creation with an entry in my favorites.  And yes, it is a mermaid version of her because they have opposable thumbs which makes it easier to grab things.…
8. The Wind Rises - I actually heard about this movie in the link (note: go to 23:54).… At first, I wondered why Miyazaki would make a movie celebrating someone who designed planes to be used by Japan in World War II?  Then I went to the TV Tropes page and found out this was not only supposed to portray how the best of inventions could be used for the worst of intentions, but it was also a metaphor for Miyazaki's own influence on the animation world and it all made sense.

All in all, are those the Ghibli movies I should start with, or are there others that are just as good?  For the record, I have heard of both Grave of the Fireflies and Arrietty.
